About Whisk and Fork

Back in the fall of 2018, my brother (AKA Whisk) had a bad bleed in his lung. He died several times, but the first responders and medical team had been able to bring him back. Not long after he got home, I (AKA Fork) had an idea to start this blog and share some of his knowledge in culinary arts. I bounced some names off of him and he really liked this one. Over the next couple of years, I spoke to him about it off and on. He said he wanted to make recipes “like Mom never made”. He was going to develop these recipes. I was going to maintain the website, take photos, and all the un-fun stuff he didn’t care about. I figured we could make a few dollars and he wouldn’t have to work.

I tried for the next two years to get him to send me recipes, but he never would. I didn’t understand why he wouldn’t send me recipes during this time, but now I do. On the 30th day of December 2020, he passed away after major surgery to remove part of his lung.

His wife found some of his recipes that he had written. The pizza crust recipe and homemade pizza sauce are some of the first ones we tried. I am not an expert in cooking, but I will try his recipes and will learn as much as possible to make this blog a reality.

This is probably going to be one of the most difficult things I will do in my life. I invite you to join me on this journey and hopefully, we can enjoy some good food with family and friends. Life is too short to get everything done you want to do.
